DIXIANA, SC (LEXINGTON COUNTY) – Two people died after a wrong-way crash on I-26 near Dixiana in Lexington County early this morning, according to WIS TV.
The crash happened on I-26, near mile marker 119 and Highway 176, at about 5:30 a.m. on July 25, as the driver of a 2011 Jeep was traveling the wrong way, against the flow of traffic.
The Jeep then struck a 2018 Hyundai head-on.
Both drivers were killed in the crash.
The accident remains under investigation at this time.

WINDSOR, SC – An elderly man was killed in a head-on collision on the Charleston Highway in Windsor on Saturday afternoon, according to WIS TV.
The collision happened in the 4000 block of Charleston Hwy, near Cedar Branch Road, at 2:10 p.m. on July 24, when the 93-year-old driver of a Kia minivan attempted to turn into a private drive. The driver, Windsor resident Edgar Kitchens, pulled into the pathway of a 2018 Infiniti being driven by 54-year-old Sheila Williams. The two vehicles then collided head-on.
Kitchens was taken to the hospital, and there he was later pronounced dead.
Williams was also taken to the hospital for treatment.
The accident remains under investigation at this time.

CHARLESTON, SC – A 19-year-old was killed in a multi-vehicle collision involving a hit-and-run driver in the West Ashley area on Thursday night, according to Count on 2 News.
The collision happened on Ashley River Road, near Magwood Drive on July 22, when a Chevrolet Trailblazer SUV crashed head-on into an Infiniti Q50 sedan. The impact then caused the Trailblazer to strike a third vehicle.
The driver of the Trailblazer then fled the scene on foot.
A passenger in the Infiniti, 19-year-old Ryleigh O’Brien, was pronounced dead after the crash.
The driver of the Infiniti was taken to the hospital with undisclosed injuries.
The third driver was not hurt in the collision.
Authorities continue to investigate the crash.

SUMMERVILLE, SC – One person was hospitalized after an apartment building in Summerville caught fire early this morning, according to Count on 2 News.
The collision happened at The Grove at Oakbrook Apartments, located at 325 Midland Parkway, just after 12 a.m. on July 24, when a unit on the third floor caught fire.
A resident was taken to the hospital to be evaluated for smoke inhalation injuries.
A total of five apartment units were destroyed in the blaze.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

55-year-old Cherokee County resident Linda Sue Turner was walking across the street when she was hit by an oncoming vehicle.
Turner was pronounced dead after the crash.

ANDERSON COUNTY, SC – A crash on Interstate 85 south of Clemson Blvd involving a tractor-trailer and a flatbed truck resulted in minor injuries Wednesday, July 21.
According to WYFF4, the tractor-trailer collided with a flatbed truck, which veered into the grassy median. The flatbed truck hit a man driving a mower in the median.
South Carolina Highway Patrol Trooper Joe Hovis said the man on the mower sustained only minor injuries.
