According to Live5News, the crash happened around 9:30 a.m. on July 30 and did not involve any other vehicles. The identity of the victim has not yet been released.

I-26 westbound was closed for about an hour while emergency crews cleared the scene.

Officials are still investigating.

News: 22-year-old, 23-year-old killed in head-on Lynchburg crash

LYNCHBURG, SC – Two people were killed in a head-on collision on the 11000 block of Lynches River Road in Sumter County on Wednesday.

According to News 19, the crash happened around 3 p.m. on July 28. Sumter County Coroner Robert Baker identified the victims as Cameron Alexis Ard, 22 and Mystique Nicole Krzeminski, 23.

Ard and Krzeminski struck another vehicle head-on and both died at the scene. The condition of the person or people in the other vehicle has not been released.

Officials are investigating this crash.

BERKELEY COUNTY, SC – A motorcyclist died of his injuries after being struck by a Chevrolet Trailblazer on Monday, July 26.

According to Live 5 News, the victim has been identified as Samuel Wade Benefield, 59. The crash happened on US-17A near Cypress Gardens Road. The driver of the Chevy Trailblazer lost control while heading north on the highway, and hit Benefield’s Harley.

Benefield and the driver of the Chevy were taken to the hospital with injuries. Benefield died at the hospital.

News: Coroner identifies 71-year-old woman killed in Pickens Co. crash

PICKENS COUNTY, SC – The victim of a head-on collision that happened on Six Mile Highway was identified by the coroner on Sunday, July 25.

According to WSPA News, the victim was identified as 71-year-old Deborah Williams of Union.

The crash occurred around 6 p.m. Saturday night near Red Fox Rd. The driver of a 2020 Ford F-150 was heading north on Six Mile Highway when they crossed the centerline and struck Williams’ car head-on.

Williams was trapped in her car and died of her injuries.

The driver of the Ford pickup truck sustained injuries in the accident.
