GREER, SC – Nine people were injured in a collision on East Wade Hampton Boulevard near Arlington Road on Sunday afternoon.
According to WSPA News, the accident happened because one vehicle, a Toyota Highlander, ran a red light on north Arlington Rd. As a result, a GMC Yukon struck the Toyota in the intersection. A Hyundai Elantra was hit in the accident too.
There were three people in each vehicle. One passenger from the Toyota was airlifted to a local hospital in serious condition.
Eight other people were hospitalized in unknown conditions.
The driver of the Toyota has been charged with four traffic violations.

ANDERSON COUNTY, SC – A man died in a car crash on Highway 81 near Masters Boulevard on Monday night, according to South Carolina Highway Patrol.
WSPA News reported that the victim was identified as Tommy Ray Fortner, 61. The accident happened on July 26 just before 7 p.m. Fortner was headed north in an SUV when he ran off the road and his car flipped.
Highway Patrol said he was thrown from the vehicle and died at the scene.
No other vehicles were involved.

KERSHAW CO., SC – A Camden woman died in a head-on collision while driving to work on Monday morning, July 26.
According to WISTV, the woman was identified as 55-year-old Melissa Moore. The accident happened around 6 a.m. when Moore was heading west on Ridgeway Rd. Another driver, heading east, crossed the centerline and hit Moore’s car head-on near the 1900 block of Ridgeway Road.
Moore died at the scene. The other driver was taken to a local hospital in an unknown condition.
South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating.

According to WIS News, the victim has been identified as Andre Howell. The Lexington Co. Coroner pronounced Howell dead at the scene.

DIXIANA, SC (LEXINGTON COUNTY) – Two people died after a wrong-way crash on I-26 near Dixiana in Lexington County early this morning, according to WIS TV.
The crash happened on I-26, near mile marker 119 and Highway 176, at about 5:30 a.m. on July 25, as the driver of a 2011 Jeep was traveling the wrong way, against the flow of traffic.
The Jeep then struck a 2018 Hyundai head-on.
Both drivers were killed in the crash.

WINDSOR, SC – An elderly man was killed in a head-on collision on the Charleston Highway in Windsor on Saturday afternoon, according to WIS TV.
The collision happened in the 4000 block of Charleston Hwy, near Cedar Branch Road, at 2:10 p.m. on July 24, when the 93-year-old driver of a Kia minivan attempted to turn into a private drive. The driver, Windsor resident Edgar Kitchens, pulled into the pathway of a 2018 Infiniti being driven by 54-year-old Sheila Williams. The two vehicles then collided head-on.
Kitchens was taken to the hospital, and there he was later pronounced dead.
Williams was also taken to the hospital for treatment.
The accident remains under investigation at this time.

CHARLESTON, SC – A 19-year-old was killed in a multi-vehicle collision involving a hit-and-run driver in the West Ashley area on Thursday night, according to Count on 2 News.
The collision happened on Ashley River Road, near Magwood Drive on July 22, when a Chevrolet Trailblazer SUV crashed head-on into an Infiniti Q50 sedan. The impact then caused the Trailblazer to strike a third vehicle.
The driver of the Trailblazer then fled the scene on foot.
A passenger in the Infiniti, 19-year-old Ryleigh O’Brien, was pronounced dead after the crash.
The driver of the Infiniti was taken to the hospital with undisclosed injuries.
The third driver was not hurt in the collision.
Authorities continue to investigate the crash.
