SPARTANBURG, SC – A man died when he ran off the side of Interstate 26 and into multiple trees on Thursday morning.

The crash happened near mile marker 21 on July 22. The victim has been identified as Billy David Briscoe of Wellford, South Carolina. He was 42.

According to FOX Carolina, Briscoe was not wearing a seatbelt and needed to be extracted from the car.

Briscoe was driving eastbound on I-26 in a 2003 Honda when the accident occurred. No other vehicles were involved in this crash. It is not clear why Briscoe ran off the road.
