SPARTANBURG, SC – A vehicle was struck by a train while deliberately  parked on the tracks Tuesday, and a man has now been charged with attempted murder as a result, according to WYFF.

Spartanburg officials report that the accident took place on the train tracks at Magnolia Street and Alba Court on July 13th. Johnny Beheler allegedly parked a blue sedan on the tracks and told his female passenger that he was going to kill her. Beheler only moved the vehicle after they had been struck by the train.

The female passenger was found walking near the train tracks after Beheler had fled the scene. It is unclear if she was injured in the accident.

Beheler has been apprehended by law enforcement and charged with attempted murder.
