News: Hit-and-run boat crash reported in Fairfield County

FAIRFIELD CO., SC – South Carolina Department of Natural Resources continues to search for the boat involved in a two-vehicle collision that injured one person Sunday, reports WLTX.
The collision reportedly took place on Lake Wateree near Wateree Creek around 10:00 PM on July 4th. An aluminum fishing boat collided with a ski boat and subsequently fled the scene.
The ski boat was heavily damaged, and one person aboard suffered a head injury as a result of the accident.
The fishing boat allegedly had four occupants. Two female occupants were thrown from the vehicle and then pulled back onto the boat before the driver fled.
The South Carolina Department of Natural Resources requests that anyone with any information about the fishing boat or its occupants to please contact them at 1-800-922-5431.
