COLLETON CO., SC – A 28-year-old man has suffered life-threatening injuries in a two-vehicle collision Tuesday, reports ABC 4 News.

The accident took place at the intersection of Jefferies Highway and Academy Road on July 6th according to Colleton County Fire Rescue. The motorcyclist reportedly collided with the side of an SUV while going through the intersection.

The motorcyclist had been wearing a helmet at the time of the accident but sustained serious injuries. He is receiving treatment at the Medical University of South Carolina’s Trauma Center.

The driver of the SUV suffered no injuries.

South Carolina Highway Patrol is currently investigating the accident.
