LITTLE RIVER, SC – One person has been killed in a single-vehicle accident as a result of a police chase early Thursday morning, according to WPDE.

Horry County Fire Rescue reports that the fatal crash took place at 956 State Highway 57 around 4:40 AM on June 24th. A Honda Accord had been traveling at high speed and swerving in and out of traffic in an attempt to flee from law enforcement before the vehicle exited the roadway and crashed into some utility lines. 

The driver died at the scene. The coroner’s office has yet to identify the deceased.

South Carolina Highway Patrol is currently investigating the accident.
