COLLETON CO., SC – A pedestrian has died after they were struck by a Colleton County deputy’s patrol car early Friday morning, according to The State.

According to the Colleton County Sheriff’s Office, the fatal collision took place on Highway 63 near Cobb Court around 1:30 AM on June 4th. 24-year-old Isaiah Bahrenburg was responding to a 911 call in the area when he struck the pedestrian in a poorly lit area of Highway 63.

The pedestrian, who has not yet been identified by the coroner’s office, died at the scene.

Bahrenburg has been placed on administrative leave while the Colleton County Sheriff’s Office conducts an internal investigation of the accident.
