HORRY CO., SC – Two men were charged on Monday with failure to render assistance to an injured minor and providing alcohol to a minor after a boating accident earlier this May, reports WMBF.

According to the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources, the boat accident took place near Barefoot Landing on Saturday May 15th. The boat reportedly ran aground and the minor was thrown from the vehicle and suffered serious injuries. 

The two men who had been on the boat with the minor passenger, 22-year-old Tristan Gore and 28-year-old Troy Conyers, did not report the accident to anyone at the time. The parents of the minor passenger later reported the accident to the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources on Monday May 17th. Warrants were issued for the arrests of both men on Monday May 24th. 

The South Carolina Department of Natural Resources continues to investigate the accident.
