MARLBORO CO., SC – One person has died after they were ejected from their motorcycle in a crash Wednesday afternoon, reports WMBF

According to South Carolina Highway Patrol, the single-vehicle accident took place on Delta Heights Road around 4:00 PM on May 19th. The victim had been driving a 2004 Suzuki motorcycle westbound when they exited the roadway, struck a guardrail, and were ejected from the vehicle.

The motorcyclist had reportedly not been wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, and unfortunately succumbed to their injuries at the scene. The coroner’s office has not yet identified the deceased.

South Carolina Highway Patrol continues to investigate the accident.
