MARLBORO CO., SC – The Marlboro County Coroner’s office was called to the scene of a house fire that killed one person Wednesday morning.

According to WMBF, the house that caught fire is located on Highway 381 in the McColl area. First responders were dispatched to the scene in the early morning hours of May 19th. 

The coroner’s office has not yet identified the victim.

It is unknown if there were other occupants in the house at the time.

The Marlboro County Coroner’s Office and the Marlboro County Sheriff’s Office are still investigating the fire to determine what caused the blaze.
