COLUMBIA, SC – One person has died following an accident involving a Toyota Sequoia and two box trucks Thursday morning, reports ABC Columbia.

According to South Carolina Highway Patrol, the accident took place on I 26 eastbound near mile marker 123 around 8:00 AM on May 13th. A 2003 Toyota Sequoia veered off the right side of the road before overcorrecting and driving onto the median where it struck a parked box truck. The parked box truck subsequently rear-ended another box truck parked in front of it. 

One passenger in the Toyota unfortunately died at the scene. The coroner’s office has not yet released the identity of the deceased.

The driver of the Toyota and the backseat passenger were injured and airlifted to Prisma Health Richland. Neither of their conditions are known at this time.
