YORK CO., SC – One person was killed in a fatal motorcycle accident during the early hours of Sunday morning, reports WCNC.

According to South Carolina Highway Patrol, the crash took place on Pleasant Road near Coltharp Road around 4:30 AM on May 9th. The motorcycle ran off the left side of the road where it collided with a traffic sign and a fire hydrant. The motorcyclist was ejected from their vehicle and fatally injured.

The York County Coroner’s Office has not yet identified the victim.

South Carolina Highway Patrol continues to investigate the accident.
