GRANITEVILLE, SC – 63-year-old John M. Spence was identified as the victim of a fatal single-vehicle crash on I 20 Thursday afternoon, reports WJBF.
According to information from South Carolina Highway Patrol, the accident took place on I 20 westbound near mile marker 8 on April 29th. Spence, who had been driving a 1999 Ford truck, initially veered off the right side of the road and then overcorrected and exited the roadway to the left. His vehicle struck the median and overturned, trapping him inside the truck.
Spence suffered blunt force trauma injuries and sadly died at the scene.
South Carolina Highway Patrol continues to investigate the accident. A toxicology report is pending.
