RICHLAND CO., SC – One person has died and another has been seriously injured after their vehicle collided head-on with a tree early Sunday morning, reports ABC Columbia.
According to South Carolina Highway Patrol, the accident took place on I 20 eastbound near mile marker 83 around 12:30 AM on April 25th. A 2015 Mercedes Sedan exited the roadway and crashed into a tree.
The passenger of the Mercedes was killed on impact. Their identity has not been reported.
The driver of the Mercedes suffered life-threatening injuries and remains in the hospital. They have been identified as Karim Fahmy.
South Carolina Highway Patrol continues to investigate the accident.
