SPARTANBURG CO., SC – A motorcyclist has died after colliding with an oncoming vehicle on Highway 9 Monday evening, reports WYFF.

According to South Carolina Highway Patrol, the accident took place on Highway 9 at Lilac Lane around 6:15 PM on April 26th. A motorcycle collided with a Jeep as it attempted to turn left onto Lilac Lane.

The motorcyclist, who was reportedly not wearing a helmet, was ejected from their vehicle as a result of the crash and sadly died at the scene. The coroner’s office has identified the deceased as 29-year-old Thomas Lee Young.

The driver of the Jeep was injured and transported to the hospital. Their identity and condition remain unknown. 

South Carolina Highway Patrol continues to investigate the accident.
