LANCASTER CO., SC – Three people were killed and two others were seriously injured in a four-vehicle accident Sunday afternoon, reports WSOC.

According to South Carolina Highway Patrol, the accident occurred on Highway 200 near Zion Road around 1:10 PM on April 18th. A Hyundai Coupe sideswiped a motorcycle while attempting to pass it before colliding head-on with a Volvo truck tractor. A convertible was also struck by debris in the accident. 

The driver of the Hyundai along with two underage passengers sadly died at the scene. The coroner’s office identified the driver as 19-year-old Juan Gonzalez. 

The motorcyclist and the driver of the truck were both injured and taken to the hospital. 

The accident remains under investigation.
