ORANGEBURG, SC – A driver was killed and a passenger was hospitalized after a single-vehicle accident resulted in a car fire Sunday morning, reports WLTX.

According to South Carolina Highway Patrol, the accident occurred on Ninety-Six Road roughly two miles east of Neeses around 9:30 AM on April 11th. The vehicle exited the roadway, overturned in an embankment, and caught fire on impact.

The driver unfortunately died at the scene. The coroner’s office has yet to release their identity.

The passenger was severely injured and taken to the hospital. Their identity and condition remains unknown.

South Carolina Highway Patrol continues to investigate the accident.
