PICKENS CO., SC – One person has died after a collision involving a dirt bike and a Jeep on S.C. 183 Tuesday night, reports WYFF.

According to South Carolina Highway Patrol, the accident took place roughly two miles south of Pickens on S.C. 183 at 11:35 PM on March 30th. A 1997 Jeep collided with the dirt bike from behind while both vehicles were traveling north. 

The driver of the dirt bike had not been wearing a helmet, and was ejected from their vehicle in the crash. They were severely injured and taken to the hospital where they sadly succumbed to their injuries. The coroner’s office has identified the deceased as 25-year-old Wesley Gantt.
