CHARLESTON, SC – The Charleston Police Department reported injuries in a collision on River Road yesterday morning, according to the agency’s Twitter account.

The accident occurred in the 2700 block of River Road before 10:40 a.m. on March 26, when a driver crashed into a tree.

Charleston PD reported major injuries in the crash but stated in a follow-up tweet that nobody was immediately taken to the hospital.

Drivers were asked to avoid the area as first responders worked the crash.
