DARLINGTON, SC – Two people have been injured after a collision involving a logging truck and a train Monday morning, reports SC NOW.
According to South Carolina Highway Patrol, the collision occurred at the intersection of East McIver Road and Riverview Road at 11:45 AM on March 22nd. Logs spilled out onto the railroad tracks and roadway in the crash, and the train was derailed.
Two people were hospitalized following the accident. There is currently no information regarding their identity or condition.
East McIver Road remains closed as emergency crews work to clear the scene.
