CONWAY, SC – A woman has been taken to the hospital after a passerby helped her to escape her car that had become partially submerged in a pond Monday afternoon, reports WMBF.

According to Conway City Officials, the car crashed into a pond right outside Wild Wing Plantation clubhouse the afternoon of March 15th. The exact circumstances of the accident remains unknown. 

Two bystanders were able to break the car window and attempted to pull the car out using extension cords attached to their own vehicle. Luckily, Horry County Fire Rescue arrived shortly after and was able to rescue the unconscious woman. 

The woman was transported to the hospital from the scene. There is no word yet regarding her identity or condition.
