LAURENS CO., SC – A child was severely injured and a woman was killed after a collision south of Clinton on Monday night, reports WYFF.

According to South Carolina Highway Patrol, the single-vehicle accident took place on Greenplain Road near Wadsworth Lane around 9:45 PM on March 15th. The driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle, which ran off the left side of the road before colliding with a utility pole and overturning. 

The driver was ejected from the vehicle in the crash and died shortly after being taken to the hospital. She had not been wearing a seatbelt. The coroner has identified the deceased as 28-year-old Selena Rayne Lindsey. 

The child had been securely strapped into a car seat but was injured as well. They remain in the hospital, and their condition is unknown at this time.
