CHEROKEE CO., SC – A single-vehicle accident that killed one person was discovered Thursday morning, reports WYFF

According to the Cherokee County Coroner, the crash actually occurred Wednesday March 10th around 7:48 PM, at the intersection of U.S. 221 and Dove Ridge Lane. The driver of a 2016 Honda Accord lost control of the vehicle before exiting the roadway and colliding with a tree and three vehicles parked on the property of Vick’s Classic Auto Parts.

The driver died at the scene of the accident. They had been wearing a seatbelt.

The coroner has identified the deceased as 73-year-old Flay Ronald Lovelace. It is possible that Lovelace suffered some kind of medical emergency prior to the accident, as there is no evidence he attempted to apply his brakes.
