COLUMBIA, SC – There have been no injuries reported after the City of West Columbia Fire Department was called to the scene of a structure fire Sunday evening.

WACH reports that Building G of the Riverbanks Retreat Apartments located at 1035 Comanchee Trail caught fire around 6:30 PM on March 7th. It took officials approximately an hour to extinguish the heavy flames. All nine families escaped the building without injury, but the structure was severely damaged. 

The Columbia Area Red Cross is assisting the victims of the fire at this time.

Officials continue to investigate the cause of the fire.
