MONCKS CORNER, SC – A pedestrian was killed and a driver has been injured after a fatal collision Wednesday afternoon, reports Count On News 2.
South Carolina Highway Patrol states that the accident took place at the intersection of Highway 17A and Lazy Hill Road at 4:51 PM on March 3rd. The pedestrian had been in the roadway of Highway 17A when a Honda CRV collided with them.
The pedestrian suffered severe injuries as a result of the collision and was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Honda CRV was also injured and taken to the hospital. There is currently no information regarding the identity of the deceased or the condition of the driver.
All lanes on Highway 17A southbound were closed as emergency responders worked to clear the scene of the accident. They have since reopened.
South Carolina Highway Patrol continues to investigate the accident.
