HORRY CO., SC – Two lanes on Highway 31 southbound have been closed as emergency responders investigate a two-vehicle crash that injured one person Tuesday evening. 

WMBF reports that the accident occurred on Highway 31 near Water Tower Road around 5:30 PM on March 2nd. According to Horry County Fire Rescue, one person was trapped in their vehicle and extrication operations were necessary in order to free them. The make and model of the vehicles involved in the crash have yet to be released.

One person was transported to the hospital from the scene of the accident. There is currently no information regarding their identity or condition. 

South Carolina Highway Patrol continues to investigate the accident.
