ELGIN, SC – A motorcyclist was pronounced dead after colliding with an SUV on Saturday, reports WIS 10.

The two-vehicle accident took place on U.S. Highway 1 near Vallenga Drive at around 5:15 PM on February 27th. The motorcycle rear-ended an SUV from that had stopped behind traffic.

The motorcyclist was not wearing a helmet and sustained serious injuries in the collision. He was transported to the hospital where he died the following day. The deceased has been identified as 76-year-old Robert Leslie. 

The driver of the SUV was uninjured. 

South Carolina Highway Patrol continues to investigate the accident.
