COLLETON CO., SC – One person has died and a minor remains in the hospital after their car veered off the highway and hit two vehicles parked on the shoulder Thursday afternoon.

The driver lost control of a GMC Sierra and ran off the highway, subsequently hitting a Dodge Ram parked on the shoulder. The collision pushed the Ram into a semi truck parked next to it.
The GMC’s driver died at the scene. A minor who was a passenger in the vehicle was rushed to Medical University of South Carolina. That person’s identity and condition has not yet been released.
Neither the driver nor the passenger had been wearing seatbelts.
