NORTH AUGUSTA, SC – Two people have been transported to the hospital after a pickup truck hit an 18-wheeler early Thursday morning, reports WRDW.

South Carolina Highway Patrol reports that the two-vehicle accident occurred at 12:48 AM on February 18th near mile marker 3 on I-20 eastbound. One witness states that the pickup truck became wedged underneath the tractor-trailer following the crash. 

First responders transported the both drivers to nearby hospitals. The vehicles had to be towed from the scene.

The right lane of I-20 was temporarily blocked, but has since reopened. 

There is currently no information on the identity or condition of either driver.
