CHARLESTON, SC – An employee of MAHLE Behr has died after getting stuck in a piece of machinery Monday night reports Count on News 2.

The North Charleston Fire Department responded to the emergency call around 11:00 PM on February 15th. First responders were able to free the employee from the machine and begin administering medical services. He was then transported to the Medical University of South Carolina, where he later died. 

The MAHLE Behr employee has been identified by the Charleston County Coroner’s Office as 56-year-old Nelson Middleton.

MAHLE Behr assembles air conditioner and radiator parts for cars. The company is coopearting with authorities to determine the cause of the accident.

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration continues to investigate the accident as well.
