CHARLESTON CO., SC – A woman was killed after a fire broke out at a house in Hollywood this morning, WCSC reports.

St. Paul’s firefighters received reports of a fire in the 5200 block of Rectory Road at 2 a.m. on February 12, 2021. They arrived to find flames coming from both the front and back of the two-story residence.

Four people escaped the blaze, and firefighters were able to rescue a dog. Two other dogs and a cat died before the fire was brought under control.

Sadly, a woman succumbed to her injuries at about 6 a.m. It is not clear whether she was one of the four people who fled the house.

Investigations into the cause of the fire are ongoing.
