GOOSE CREEK, SC – Firefighters in Goose Creek rescued a man after he became stuck in a muddy median while attempting to cross the street, the Associated Press reports.

The incident occurred near a Publix grocery store on St. James Avenue sometime before 9 a.m. on February 11. The unidentified man apparently sank into the mud while he paused in the median while crossing the road.

Fire crews deployed shovels, a ladder, and a backboard to free the man, who does not appear to have been injured.
