COLLETON CO., SC – A man was killed and a woman was injured when their motorcycle collided with a wild boar on Sniders Highway close to Forks Road, WCSC reports.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol responded to the crash at 7:30 p.m. on February 8, 2021. According to their investigation, a northbound 1999 Honda VT-750 collided with a wild boar in an unlit stretch of the highway. A man and a woman were thrown from the vehicle; the man came to rest in the southbound lanes, where he was hit by a passenger vehicle.

The man was already dead when emergency responders arrived on the scene. The critically injured woman was flown to North Charleston’s Trident Medical Center.

Neither victim’s identity has been released at this time. It is not clear whether the other driver will face any charges for the fatal collision.
