WILLIAMSTON, SC – On Monday, January 25, 2021, a deputy officer’s patrol car struck another vehicle on Midway Road near Cherokee Road.

According to WSPA, both Anderson County Sheriff’s Office and Pickens County Sheriff’s Office officials released information and are investigating the crash. It is unclear which office the deputy involved was working for.

Police report the deputy did have his emergency equipment activated at the time of the crash. The deputy was responding to a call about a person armed with a knife when he lost control of the vehicle and struck another vehicle in oncoming traffic.

Pickens County Sheriff’s Office reports they found that the deputy contributed to the crash.
