NEWBERRY, SC – Police identified the two people killed in the Saturday, January 23, 2021 crash that occurred on Boyd Crossing Road.

According to ABC Columbia, the fatal accident happened when a 2013 Nissan Altima traveled off the left side of Boyd Crossing Road near Glenn Street Extension and struck a tree around 1 a.m. A driver and passenger were pronounced dead at the crash scene.
Police identified the victims as 21-year-old Shareka Wise and 29-year-old Ryheim Counts. Neither Wise or Counts were wearing a seat belt.
The cause of the crash is unknown.
