NORTH CHARLESTON, SC – A series of three crashes caused significant traffic delays on eastbound I-26 early Thursday morning.
According to WCSC, the first accident occurred near the Aviation Avenue exit (211A) around 6:57 a.m. on Thursday, January 21, 2021. It blocked two lefthand lanes. Both lanes were reopened around 7:30 a.m.
The second crash took place near mile marker 207 around 6:58 a.m.
A third crash happened near mile marker 209 around 7:07 a.m.
As of 7:58 a.m., the estimated drive time from Summertime to downtown Charleston was 75 minutes.
No injuries were reported in any of the crashes.
Investigations into the cause of all three crashes are ongoing.
