MONCKS CORNER, SC – A driver was killed after running a stop sign and hitting a tree at Gaillard Road and Old Highway 52 on Sunday morning, January 17, 2021.

According to WCBD, the fatal accident involved a 2018 Ford F-150 and occurred around 3:30 a.m.

South Carolina Highway Patrol report the driver was traveling eastbound on Gaillard Road, failed to stop at a stop sign, and crashed into a tree. The driver was not wearing a seat belt.

Investigations into the cause of the crash are ongoing.
