CHESTER, SC (CHESTER COUNTY) – A pedestrian was killed in Chester County after being struck by a hit-and-run driver on Thursday morning, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol Troop 4.

The accident occurred in Chester, on westbound Pinckney Road (Highway 9), near Mount Prospect Road, at about 6:15 a.m. on January 14.

A pedestrian who has yet to be publicly identified was struck by the driver of a 2005-2009 Ford Mustang, before the driver fled the scene of the crash.

The pedestrian died of their injuries.

Authorities believe that the Mustang will likely have damage to the front of the vehicle.
