MONCKS CORNER, SC – A North Charleston Police Department (NCPD) officer was arrested for DUI on Tuesday afternoon after he crashed into multiple parked cars and then fled the scene.

According to WCBD, a Chevrolet Silverado crashed into two parked cars and a mailbox at 7 Oaks Drive at about 2 p.m. on January 12, 2021 and then left the scene.

South Carolina Highway Patrol and Moncks Corner Police Department investigated the crash. They identified the driver as Edward Jerome Clemens Jr., an NCPD officer of five years.

Clemens was arrested for driving under the influence and fleeing the scene of a crash with property damage. He is currently booked at the Berkeley County Detention Center.
