SPARTANBURG COUNTY, SC – A semi driver was airlifted to the hospital after crashing into the Highway 49 bridge on I-26 on Sunday afternoon.

On January 4, 2021, police shut down both sides of I-26 under the Highway 49 bridge due to a semi hitting the bridge, according to WSPA News. The re-routed traffic via the exit ramps on both sides of the highway.

The cause of the crash is unknown.

No updates have been released on the driver’s condition.
