AWENDAW, SC – A 63-year-old bicyclist was killed after a vehicle struck him on southbound Highway 17 on Friday morning.
According to WCBD News, the fatal crash occurred around 8:12 a.m. on Friday, January 8, on southbound Highway 17 near Sewee Road.
The bicyclist, identified as Bernard Krafsig, was transported to a hospital where he later passed away. The Charleston County Coroner reports that the cause of death was blunt force injuries.
Investigations into the cause of the crash are ongoing. The police have not charged the driver at this time.
