An investigation is underway after an inmate was found dead at Al Cannon Detention Center. The inmate was brought into the facility on Monday. By 10:00 am Tuesday, they were dead. Two detention deputies have been placed on leave with pay following the incident.
Prisons and jails are required to provide the people incarcerated within them a basic level of safety. When they fail to do so, there could be some level of jail misconduct at play.
