ORANGEBURG, SC – State police are investigating a fatal single-vehicle collision that took place near the city of Orangeburg on December 24.

WIS News 10 reports that the victim was driving north on US 301 at about 6:30 p.m. when he lost control of his 1999 GMC pickup truck near Highway 4. The truck ran off the side of the road and into a ditch, killing the driver, even though he was wearing a seatbelt at the time.

He was the only occupant of the pickup. No one else was injured.
