MYRTLE BEACH, SC – A multi-vehicle collision in the Myrtle Beach area this afternoon led to three people being taken to the hospital, according to WPDE.

The accident occurred on the Highway 17 Bypass, near Sheffield Parkway, at about 2:20 p.m., when three vehicles collided.

At least one person was trapped within the wreckage for an unspecified amount of time.

Three people were taken to the hospital with undisclosed injuries.

The cause of the accident and the identities of the victims were not immediately available.

The accident remains under investigation by the Department of Public Safety at this time.
