GEORGETOWN, SC – A medical helicopter was called to the scene of an accident yesterday after timber from a logging truck crashed into an SUV’s windshield and trapped its driver inside, GAB News reports.

The incident occurred in the northbound lanes of the Maryville Bridge and was reported shortly after noon on December 21. A follow-up post from Todd’s Roadside Service and Towing suggested that the driver would survive his injuries, but we cannot independently confirm that at this time.

This is an ongoing story and will be updated should more information become available.
