James B. Moore JR

James B. “Jimmy” Moore Jr. is a veteran South Carolina attorney and real estate, estate planning, and business law specialist at Evans Moore, LLC in Georgetown. A Georgetown County native, he earned his B.S. in Business Administration from The Citadel, his J.D. from the University of South Carolina School of Law, and an LL.M. in Taxation from New York University School of Law, and has been practicing law in South Carolina since 1973. Over his five-decade career, Jimmy has handled nearly every aspect of residential and commercial real estate law—including large-scale developments, finance transactions, and interval ownership projects—while also advising clients on corporate, business, probate, and estate planning matters.​

Jimmy previously served as a partner at Moore Flowers & Doar, then as a shareholder at Governor Robert McNair’s firm and later counsel at Burr Forman & McNair, before returning to Georgetown County to join Evans Moore, LLC.

In addition to being admitted to practice in all South Carolina Courts, Jimmy is admitted to practice in all Federal Courts, including the United States District Court for the District of South Carolina, the United States Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States Supreme Court.

Jimmy has been selected to Super Lawyers® in 2009 and to The Best Lawyers in America® since 2001 for Real Estate Law in Georgetown, South Carolina.
He is an active member and past president of the Georgetown County Bar Association. Jimmy has also served as a director of the South Carolina Ports Authority and sits on the board of the Coastal Educational Foundation at Coastal Carolina University.
