A South Carolina native. He grew up on the sea islands in the Lowcountry and relocated to Horry County, where his family has called home for several generations. Buster spent several years as a boat captain and traveled overseas before attending college. He graduated from Coastal Carolina University summa cum laude and the University of South Carolina School of Law magna cum laude.

After law school, he clerked for the Honorable Judge Gregory P. McGuire at the North Carolina Business Court in Raleigh.

After his clerkship, Buster returned to Myrtle Beach. Since then, he has gained valuable experience at large and small law firms. He has experience handling a range of legal issues, including personal injury cases, business litigation, real estate disputes, and transactional real estate matters. Additionally, Buster spent a year and a half serving in the in-house legal department as a contract negotiator for a large, multinational technology company.
