CONWAY, SC – A pedestrian was fatally struck by a vehicle on Highway 501 in Horry County late last night, according to WPDE News.

The collision happened on Hwy 501, near Burning Ridge Road, at about 10:50 p.m., as a pedestrian was walking across the street. The victim was then struck by the driver of a 2016 Chevrolet Tahoe.

The victim was pronounced dead after the collision.

The driver and their passenger were uninjured.

The accident remains under investigation at this time.

WILLIAMSBURG, COUNTY, SC – One person died and three others were injured in a crash on S.C. 41 near Red’s Landing Road on Friday, July 23.

According to Live5News, a sedan and a semi-truck were traveling south on S.C. 41. The sedan attempted to pass the truck, sideswiped it, and veered off the road. The driver of the sedan died at the scene. The passengers of the sedan were taken to a local hospital.

After the sedan crashed, a pickup truck traveling south on S.C. 41 hit the truck. Neither the driver of the pickup nor the semi-truck was injured.

ANDERSON COUNTY, SC – A crash on Interstate 85 south of Clemson Blvd involving a tractor-trailer and a flatbed truck resulted in minor injuries Wednesday, July 21.

According to WYFF4, the tractor-trailer collided with a flatbed truck, which veered into the grassy median. The flatbed truck hit a man driving a mower in the median.

South Carolina Highway Patrol Trooper Joe Hovis said the man on the mower sustained only minor injuries.

The collision caused a backup on I-85.

According to News 13, 64-year-old Jeffrey Harrison Barker was riding his bicycle on Meadowbrook Road when for an unknown reason he veered off the road and crashed. The accident happened near Cherry Hill Rd.

Though Barker was wearing a helmet, he died of his injuries.

News: Man killed in single-vehicle accident on I-26 in Spartanburg

SPARTANBURG, SC – A man died when he ran off the side of Interstate 26 and into multiple trees on Thursday morning.

The crash happened near mile marker 21 on July 22. The victim has been identified as Billy David Briscoe of Wellford, South Carolina. He was 42.

According to FOX Carolina, Briscoe was not wearing a seatbelt and needed to be extracted from the car.

Briscoe was driving eastbound on I-26 in a 2003 Honda when the accident occurred. No other vehicles were involved in this crash. It is not clear why Briscoe ran off the road.

GREENVILLE, SC – A child was injured in a hit-and-run accident on Old Easley Bridge Road on Thursday, according to South Carolina Highway Patrol.

CLEMSON, SC – Two people were injured in a crash involving a U.S. Postal Service mail truck on Hwy 123 near U.S. 93 on Wednesday.

News: One hospitalized after log truck overturns in Horry County

HORRY COUNTY, SC – One person is hospitalized following a crash involving a log truck on Highway 19 near Conway on Wednesday morning.

According to WMBF News, the accident happened near the intersection of Highway 19 and Jungle Rd around 9 a.m. on July 21. Horry County Fire and Rescue responded to the scene, where they found an overturned log truck.

First responders transported one person to an area hospital. It is not clear if this was the driver of the log truck.

Crews also worked to contain an oil spill coming from the truck.

Highway 19 was closed for an “extended period of time” Wednesday.
